Dear Fellow Green Valley Members:
This is an exciting year for the club as we enter our 100th year of existence. While the club has changed over the years, the fundamental core values of the club have not. We continue to be a great getaway for families to come and enjoy themselves either on our beautiful golf course, renovated pool area, tennis courts, card rooms or just simply taking in a well cooked meal in our dining facilities.
Our Centennial Celebration will be one for the ages, kicking off with an extravaganza on Memorial Day Monday culminating with a large gala on Saturday, October 12, 2019. Throughout the remainder of the year we will be bringing back many staple events from years past including but not limited to stone crab night, Peter Luger night, and most likely a guest chef night. We will also be bringing back the Green Valley Pro-Am which will be run in conjunction with PGA Reach, the foundation of the Philadelphia Section of the PGA.
The goal of this year is for everyone to come out and enjoy all that we have to offer as we celebrate our centennial. As such, you will see a $200 charge on your January bill which will act as a subsidy for all the events we have planned.
In addition, we will be forming a planning committee for the year end gala. All are welcome to join this committee and we would like it to represent a cross section of our membership. If you would like to be part of the committee, please email me atgdmarks71@gmail.com no later than December 15th, 2018. The first meeting of the committee will occur in January.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the club.
Gregory Marks
